95 Bordeaux @ Hawksmoor (Hawksmoor, Guildhall): Mid ruby. Traditional and uncompromising. Pretty robust. Still plenty of structure with the fruit just about hanging in there, but for how long? ***

Corked. Enough to be not worth drinking but not so much to disguise that there’s a decent traditionally styled claret in here. Feels decent enough and probably as ready as it’ll be.

Wine Education Service - Bordeaux 20 Years On (LSE): Just opaque, medium colour, with age, legs. Muted nose, a hint of Germoline, savoury and vegetal notes. Very savoury taste, vegetal, no fruit, demands food.

WES - Château Cissac (Imperial College London): Med intense, deep colour with some thinning at the rim. Fruity nose with pencil box underneath and a touch of spice. Smooth with rich ripe fruit dominant, dry with soft tannins.
