  • Gold/orange color, like a mature Sauternes. Oxidized and DOA.

  • Light golden. Nose has faint minerals, flowers, butter and citrus. Palate has a light touch and doesn't yield much. Is this oxidized? The thought crossed my mind as this seems very light almost empty, but yielded more as it warmed up. Yet there is subtle complexity that extends through to the finish and there is nothing unpleasant at all. The acidity works, but just barely. Ultimately, this took just too much effort to understand and enjoy (it wore me out).

  • Drat. Oxidized. Drinkable, but just barely. I should have known from the exceptionally deep gold color. (The food at Marks Mizner Park was just as disappointing, as if it wanted to match the wine.)

  • Dramk up all too cold and too fast at home with grilled chicken with piment d'Espalette rub. It's a pretty good match too, since the golden, thick juicy liquid plays against the light spice flavor. Very Meursault, very 1995, not so much Jobard or Genevrieres. The sheer weight of it impresses, though and there's enough acidity to make it work.

  • Lovely synthesis of '95 lushness and the relative austerity of the F. Jobard style. Light gold. Smells of melted butter, lemon and mixed nuts. Not a lush yeasty powerhouse like a Lafon, but beautifully balanced although not especially long. Very enjoyable in a quiet way. Obviously very different from a bottle consumed a few months ago.
