Way flusher than six months ago, and if the trend continues, this will fatten up to a point where a major journal would be willing to call it a ninety point wine. (As for my sake, 89 point wines are the best wines.) Rosy cherry, a bit of tar (enough for Erin to guess it was a Barbaresco!) good length, moderate tannins, and just ruled with a spicy sausage pasta dish.

Fine, especially with decanting, but the dinner of spicy sausage, gigli, and fried peppers, along with the Seahawks victory over the Cowboys, kind of rode roughshod over it. Drink over the next three years.

Polaner Selections Fall Preview Tasting (New York City): Medium ruby. Bright nose of sour cherry and leather. On the palate, racy acidity with a long finish. Simple but nice.
