On the nose ripe, dark cherries, spices, mocha, liquorice, hints of chocolate. On the palate really dense and concentrated, but impressively well balanced. Good acidity, polished tannins, oodles of fruit. Spicy finish. Very long. Needs time, but very promising. 93-94+

Floral components weigh in heavily on a marmaladey fruit. Tannins were quite dry hence needs some time, but I can see what the many fans of Johann Schwarz like about the Schwarz Rot. May circle back to some older vintages myself.
