Easily one of the better Sauvignon Blancs under $20. Pale lemon color with aromas of Meyer lemon, pineapple and orange blossom. Dry, with punchy acidity and rich minerality provides great balance and texture. Notes of green apple, peach, citrus zest, kiwi and wet stones. Nice length on the finish.

A light touch of creamy vanilla from partial oak aging adds an extra dimension to this Sauvignon Blanc. That is well-married to the yellow apple, pear, citrus-leaf flavors that precede the racy, stony finish.

Chalk Hill Estate's 2018 Sauvignon Blanc includes a 4% dollop of Sauvignon Gris. Limpid and pale yellow/green, it delivers an attractive package of lime zest, white peaches and honeydew, accented with a touch of dried herbs. Light-bodied, freshly acidic, softly oaked and without any heat from its 14.5% alcohol, it stays solid on the mid-palate and retains good lift throughout its lengthy finish. This delicious white should be at its best over the next couple of years. Drink now-2022.

The wine looks straw colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like apple and honeysuckle. It tastes like lemon and peach. The body is light/medium. The wine has bright texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

Nose expresses roundness but the palate is more punchy than I would expect.
