Bordeaux varietals, only; no Sangiovese. Minimal Italian terroir. It has a bit more fruit than many French Left/Right and a bit less than WA or CA…and less extraction than a Napa blend (to its benefit). Tannins are fine and well integrated. The finish is a strong suit.

Medium ruby color. Aromas of blackcurrant. cherry, pepper, tobacco. Medium acidity, medium body, integrated tannins. Taste of cherry compot, blackcurrant. Nice wine made for imediate drinking.

First one of these in just over a year. It has developed beautifully, as expected. Violets galore on the nose and palate. Full-bodied and rich, but not overdone. Loaded with ripe, opulent plum, raspberry and black currant fruit. Perfectly balanced, with a vivid acidity that gives it just the little bit of lift it needs on the mid-palate. Finishes sneaky long, with lingering notes of tangy fruit, mineral and flowers. The Cab Franc in the blend really stands out. Still somewhat youthfully tight, this should be even better in another year or two. IMHO outdrinks the 2014 Sassicaia at 1/6 the price. The pedigree here is fully in evidence (Messorio, Scrio, Paleo). At $22.99 a bottle this could be the best value in all of Tuscany. 50+5+13+17+8=93

Still fairly youthful though pleasurable to drink at this point.
