Didn't see this coming. Gorgeous floral nose w/savory elements. Full bodied w/ meaty elements & plenty of dark berries to keep it in balance. Utterly gorgeous & in a great place right now. I don't drink much Oregon Syrah & this is a real treat.

Wow, what a surprise. Perfect balance and I didn't find this tannic at all, but very fresh with bright blueberry flavors. No sign of the high alcohol. This would be a nice match with duck. Score range (90-92).

(Penner-Ash Syrah) It is precisely because I enjoy Penner-Ash’s Syrah more than I do her Pinot Noir—surely one of Oregon’s most exquisitely crafted—that I’ve come to the conclusion that Southern Oregon grows some of the finest Syrah in the world. Sourced primarily from the Rogue (with 20% from the Columbia Gorge), this wine is big, thick, meaty, and concentrated—violet, black-pepper, and lavender perfumes penetrate the nostrils—yet feels light, almost ethereally balanced, polished with French oak to a brilliantly fine finish. Whether this is great terroir or great winemaking, the quality is stirring. Southern Oregon is the Real Deal

High alcohol upon opening but quieted and smoothed down about an hour after uncorking it.

Just uncorked a bottle. Opened up over a short period of time and was a wonderful complement to grilled steak.

Spicy blackberry nose. This wine has flavors of blackberry, blueberry and earth. (or forest floor). Nice tannins and finish, a really nice wine.
