A darkly coloured pinot with elegant black fruit and floral aromas and noticeably peppery. It is powerful on the palate, although the tannins are resolved. There is good length and acidity.

Beautifully evolved pinot. Real treat. Over the several hours of drinking this really blossomed in the glass. Real savory elements to accompany the mashed red strawberry fruit, black cherries and smoky elements. Very unique and really speaks of place.

Limpid crimson, darker than one would expect from a comparable Burgundy Pinot. Pronounced nose. Strawberries and red hedgerow fruit, asian spice and white pepper. On the palate bright acidity, good grip and freshness. Red fruits, a touch of leather and earth but still very much in a proimary phase. I think this will be excellent in five years as it gains in complexity but it is a delight to broach now too.

Euro-Themed Lunch - In Pursuit of Balance with US Domestic Wines (Donato Enoteca, Redwood City, CA): Cloudy. Good balance on the nose. Felt quite young. Excellent palate. Spices. Tasty. Tasted blind and felt younger than 2005.

Simple aroma with herbs, red fruits and spice. On the palate are some savory cherries, menthol with quite an acidic finish. Abit bland overall.
