Very similar to my TN for 2021. Dark & red fruits, hint of vanilla & citrus peel, well-integrated oak, creamy & smooth texture with gentle tannins, med+ acid.

Baricci is one of the lesser known, yet important Montalcino producers. So, it's always a treat to have one of their wines and excellence is expected at all levels. Good thing that is here and then some as the tones of strawberries, red cherries, licorice, spice notes, rose petals, crushed rocks, earth tones, and fresh picked berries sing beautifully together with a youthful freshness that is irresistible. The Medium/full bodied feel is well balanced and deft with tart, medium+ acidity and silky, medium+ tannins that are quite youthful and a little stiff right now. This will certainly need a few years to fully come together. What is here right now is excellent and shows a lot of promise as it well out punches its level.

Wonderful, floral, red fruited, round flavoured. Great balance. Medium weight. Great depth of fruit. Difficult to imagine Rosso di Montalcino being greater than this. Now to 2030 and beyond.

Sangiovese Mini Expo (Prince Sydney, 40 Hansard Street): Savoury, meaty, a little spice underpin, red hued fruit, with time a little tobacco leaf, and cream. Juicy, tannins are floury textured and persistent, fruit just about competes, there is a sense of breadth here as well. Nice.
