Hanging tough- some sediment and cloudiness, garnet ruby color. Fruit forward high aromatics. Ripe black cherries, bit of smoky toasty oak, light forest floor earth, very pleasurable and California friendly.

Brilliant wine and find @ K&L Wine Merchants. Its hit a perfect evolution. Beautifully, ripe, elegant, blackberries, black raspberries, dark cherries, stewed black plum, plum and great blue fruit hues. Dark spice, limestone mineral, saddle-wood with blue and red florals with a touch of lavender. Rain shower acidity and a long, elegant, balanced well polished finish for minutes. Beautiful and even better at $34.99.

Subsequent notes on this wine from two years ago. Medium ruby red in color with ever-so-slight clearing at the edges. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of red cherries, strawberries & blueberries with overtones of spice notes of cloves, nutmeg & cinnamon, some orange rind, earthy/dusty, cola, minerals & oak & vanilla undertones. Medium bodied with a good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe red fruit flavors of cherries, strawberries & cranberries with spice notes of cloves, earthy, some cherry-cola, cocoa, minerals with oak & a hint of vanilla. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present and may be close to or at its peak of development although it will hold onto its present stage of development for a while longer if cellared properly.

This was a duplicate of a previous bottle. More like a glopy Belle Glos (which I hate) than a Hansel. My least favorite Hansel pinot ever. Not sure why my bottles have been so bad when everyone else has had good ones. Not even worthy of describing further.
