Last of 12, decanted 30 minutes, perfect cork and level, recognisably as described in my note of December 14, just marginally less energy to the fruit though still very attractive, it should hold for years but I can't see it improving from here. F (17.5).

11th of 12, perfect fill, not decanted, previous notes fine or better - dusty, deepish, plummy red, brown rimmed; attractive nose, baked plums, some earth and sous bois; good weight, long and persistent, classy fruit needed coaxing and clearly better with food (steak), starting to fade a little based on previous notes. Fine plus just (18/20).

Celebrating Ben's birthday (Goosefoot, Chicago IL): Nose: This takes a little bit to get going, but it then revealed balanced and perfumed tones of dark red fruits, dark red cherries, brown spices, earth tones, a touch of balsamic, and dark florals.
Taste: Medium bodied with medium+ acidity. Very well balanced with silky and layered tones of dark red fruits, brown spices, earth tones, and a touch of balsamic tones on the back end.
Overall: This is a lovely and mature Clos Vougeot. It leaned to the more nuanced side with a real silkiness and layering on both the nose and palate.
