Lots of berry with hints of dark chocolate, vanilla and baking spice. Rich, fat fruit flavors with good spice as well. Good concentration, moderate balance with a little pronounced new oak.

Clear, medium ruby color. Clean aromas of medium intensity, and notes of tea leaf, black cherry and curry powder- secondary and developing. Dry on the palate with medium+ acid, moderate tannins and medium body. Tight, complex layers on the palate. Well balanced and structured with good finesse. Notes of fig/cherry fruit and layers of spice and earth. Fine-grained polished tannins, finishing with medium+ length. This was very backward on the front-palate upon opening. It opened up a little with a decant. Very nice. Hold.

sedimentary soil. more elegant than the Solena Hyland. The Hyland leans more CA in style. The DDL was planted 1/2 with cuttings that were wedding gifts. cherry and mineral aromas. sweet and waxy red fruit on the palate.

IPNC Walk-Around tasting; 7/26/2013-7/27/2013 (McMinnville OR): Tasting. Slightly floral start with charming red cherry aromas, anise and fresh herbs. Black and red fruit flavors are round and accessible but well supported by energy throughout. Some sweetness and baby fat on finish that I expect will soften in a year or two.

Taste: Medium bodied with medium+ acidity and nice tannins. There is good balance to the tones of fresh picked berries, wild flowers, spice tones, and red cherries.
Overall: This could use some time to fully sort itself out. It's wound a little tight right now, but is also really good.

Willamette Valley Wines presents: Pinot in the City (City Winery, Chicago, IL): Nose: There are a good amount of florals on the nose along with tones of perfumes, fresh picked berries, spice tones, and red cherries. This is very well balanced with good depth as well.
