  This is beginning to open up nicely with white peach and herbs on the nose. The palate leans towards the lighter end of the spectrum, less weighty than many a Kabinett from bigger vintages. The sweetness is moderate and is complemented by a racy streak of acidity that recalls just underripe raspberries. Impressively taught on the back end, this is a lovely Spätlese that is entering its adolescence now.

Clearly plenty of material on the palate and a firm acidity gives it great structure and staying power, but it is simply not showing much interest in the aromas and flavors at this point. Some peach and lime, but this needs some more rest to allow it to begin to develop some more mature notes and to bring all its parts into harmony.
