  • Very nice CdP with some age on it. Still in a good spot with fruit and good body. Probably wouldn't sit on these all that much longer--don't see it improving from here.

  • Soft and mature. Dark macerated fruit, woodsy spices and herbs, quite elegant these days. Some alcoholic spikes in the finish, but all in all a lovely and healthy wine. Nicely balanced.

  • Decanted through a filter because the cork disintegrated. There was a LOT of sediment.

This took 4 hours in the decanter to come around. All the tastes along the way made me think I'd be opening something else tonight. It turned out to be really good, and my wife thought it was fantastic. The flavors were soft. Tasted old with still fairly rich red fruit, earth and wild spice and some licorice. It was much better with food than by itself.

  • Bottle/cork were in nearly perfect condition. Started tasting after 90 minutes and thought there was nothing left whatsoever, not flawed just muted to nothing - over the next 45 minutes that proved to be totally incorrect.

It's losing fruit, so drink now if you've got 'em, but still an excellent wine. Rasberry/cherry, chocolate, the right touch of minerality. SB5784 describes it very well below, and I will further emphasize the legs of this one, as well as the structure that is great shape.

If the fruit had held up a little better on this one could be 95+ for me.

  • Dark, backing red color. Opaque, with notes of age on the edges. Slightly hazy. Noticeable legs. Nose is quite expressive with notes of dark ripe and sweet raspberry, blackberry, chocolate, and spice. Reminds me of the inside of a cherry Godiva chocolate. Palate is still very fruit driven and ripe (dark red and black fruits) with lots of spice, integrated but still quite strong tannin and high acidity. This is a big wine and still quite structured. Texture is lush and velvety but the finish is more course due to some still high tannins. Medium length of sweet fruit and spice. In a really nice spot right now, but I disagree with others that this needs to be drunk. I think it can hold (although not sure it improves) for another 5 years easily.
