shared with pat at selkirk manor. pulled this bottle because other tasters were reporting bad experiences. my bottle was in good shape. i consider this to be one of the better M d'A's. wish it were more readily available at retail. my tasting notes mirror notes on back label. generous nose. full in the mouth. lots of cherry and coffee. i don't get that much spice but it does have a rustic quality. well kept bottles should continue to offer pleasure for at least another year or two. perhaps longer.

Absolutely disappointing wine. No nose, no fruit, raw and aggressive tannins, very astringent finish. Barely drinkable. Een absolute flop. Geen bouquet, geen fruit, ruwe en agressieve tannines, extreem astringente afdronk. Nauwelijks drinkbaar.

Nice wine, simple and pleasant. Ruby red with violet glow. Thin suspended sediment. Pleasurable, cherry, plum, balsamic, nicely integrated oak, toasted coffee. After a while losts of pepper and a delightfull hint of graphite. Medium body, silky feel of ripe fruit, cherry and chocolate. It can get a litle nauseating, but it doesn't compromise. Soft tanins, maybe excessively soft, and present acidity. I miss some power on this. Medium finish is really a highlight, with pepper and intriguing spices

Shy nose of damp woodpile, smoke, sour cherries, black cherries, medicine cabinet, and meat. Cranberry, sour cherry, earth, and black cherry under a blanket of tannins. Good but slightly shrill acidity, simple, slightly thin, short finish. Overall, I didn't find this very pleasurable.

too bitter for my taste, and not enough to balance it all out.
