A silky texture and medium body. Bright cherry fruit with a definite oak influence, but well integrated. Decent acidity as well, but maybe a touch lacking in complexity. Probably near the end of its optimal drinking window.

At 6 years out from vintage, quite a bit of oak tannin/wood infused into the palate still. The fruit shows Oregon, with a red, hard cherry candy. I don't know how much new wood the wine saw but given the riper fruit, and the note of heat in the aromatic, the wood kind of overdoes the wine all things considered.

Dinner with Friends (FMIII in the OC): Really dark color. There is noticeable alcohol across the board on this as well as a big shot of oak and a residual terpin taste.

Ready and willing. Gives up the fruit nicely with plums and cherries and a peppery addition which balances it all out. I have 4 more and will plan on drinking this year.

Rich with bold fruit. Some heat which is not uncommon for this vintage.
