Purchased this back in 2010 on a WineCommune auction, put it in the cellar and forgot about it until now. I wish I would have grabbed it about a decade ago.
PnP, consumed over 2 hours. Appearance: Clear with noticeable browning, medium intensity mostly garnet but borderline tawny in color. Nose: Clean, medium intensity, with medicinal aromas along with stewed red fruit, shoe leather, and tobacco. Palate: Dry, low acid, medium- tannin, medium+ body, medium intensity, high alcohol - 15.5% abv with fully developed flavors of stewed cherry and raspberry, leather and earth with the 15.5% abv speaking loudly on the medium finish. Overall still a good wine, but definitely on the decline. Drink now.

The wine has evolved and is now in its late stages of life. Still feel the alcohol but it does not overwhelm the wine. Lovely notes of dried figs, tobacco, flowers, spices and leather. Very interesting wine, but again, dying.

Lots of sediment and fairly evolved - I'd recommend drinking these soon. Overall good, albeit a little overipe (pruney) with a some heat from the high alcohol content.

(KAESLER THE FAVE GRENACHE) #1; COLOR-dark, sensational; NOSE-tight, dusty aspect, obvious cherry & strawberry, dark/black licorice; TASTE-this does New World RIGHT, black pepper on mid-palate, licorice not too over-oaked or jammy/fruity, polished, obnoxiously smooth, very rich, tons of complexity, a little pricey, but "Grenache done perfectly", subtle aspects, ADORE, cocoa, vanilla, LONG finish; RP-89; GV-92

Wonderful mature Grenache. Notes of dried figs, dried flowers and ripe plum. A beautiful wine... lucky to have waited...
