The wine looks violet colored. The legs are slow. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like dust. The body is light/medium. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes short. The wine has low acidity.

Entry level Leasingham with a reputation for going the distance. This does not disappoint, has evolved beautifully. Still some berry fruit, secondary characters to the fore, tannins evident but not prominent. Beautifully balanced finish.

Very fruit-forward with nice blackberry and black cherry flavors. A good amount of oak but seems to be nicely integrated. Not as alcoholic as some Aussi Shiraz's I've had. Drinking well and a nice accompaniment to grilled burgers.

Still dark purple colour with no sign of age showing. Very vibrant nose combining blackcurrant and game along with a little fuminess and a mild greenness. Overall pretty attractive. On the palate it's really quite soft, but the flavour profile carries good complexity, with that gaminess present again. There is acidity that does just about hold it in place, though it does feel like it's half a yard behind the rest of the wine (and trying hard to keep up). Decent length to the finish and with only faint (and soft) tannins.
Overall perhaps a little too 'cuddly', but this is a very fine result for a relatively modest wine, albeit with a track record of lasting and improving over a a decade or more. A very fine cellarbuilder.

Lots of great flavor, but too much heat on the back end for me. Interested to see if it's mellowed a little on night 2.
