This was a pristine bottle of this. Not much tannin remaining and definitely past prime but still enjoyable. Caramel, eucalyptus, dried cherry and iron/mineral.

Second Sunday Group: 1999 Napa cabernets (Our house): Blind. Opens with aromas of herbs and red fruit which follow through on the palate. A bit of chocolate on the palate as well. Develops some interesting earthy elements as it sits. Nicely balanced, with abundant red fruit and a medium/long finish. Drinking very nicely and should continue to do so for at least a couple of years yet.

Shipped from winery upon release and the bottle is in fine condition after cellaring. Probably held too long but there is still fruit on the nose and a pleasant mid-palate with raspberry and cherry. Finish is somewhat short and reflects its age. Still enjoyable.

Decanted and served. This definitely is at the right time to be enjoyed and could well be past its peak. Still though a wine to be cherished. Quite a bit of dark colour still, nice rich dark fruits, light earthy undertone. The fruit has new world weight but not new world sweetness. Good dark fruits, a bit light on the acidity we felt. Well round silky tannin. A very solid 92. Drink now

(Araujo Estate Altagracia) Lovely garnet red color; focused, cassis nose; tasty, cassis, berry palate with velvety tannins and a spice note; long finish
(Altagracia) Super aromatic complexity on the nose. Fresh ground coffee, boysenberry, blueberry, earth and minerals on the hugely expansive nose. Not a blockbuster but so supple and elegant. Great fruit and unbelievable balancing acidity. Beautifil texture with an appealing bitter coffee ground finish.

On the nose, brought back great memories, but on the palate, only hints of the faded beauty. My last bottle and definitely held too long.
If you have any, open ASAP and hope for the best...
