  • Opened to breathe for 2h in St. Emilion, with bread, foie, and goat cheese watching Euro 2016 in the hotel. Soft floral and herbal nose, with some faint sandalwood. On the palate bright tart cherries, raspberries, with oak and tannins on the finish. Agree with previous CT reviews, it is a "modern" new world interpretation of right bank Bdx. Medium bodied, perhaps lacking some tannic heft and depth of extracted flavors to be a higher score, and hence a better value, in my book despite the excellent vintage. Glad I tried it, but there are as good 2010 Bdx out there at a lower price point.

  • Continues to drink so well...dry, deep, dark, mineral notes and flavors, huge cassis aromas and flavors, very balanced. Lots of grip on the finish.

Lucky to have had five bottles of this....I should have bought a case. Will buy a 2009 soon to compare.

  • Before this, I would always read tasting notes and think, "what do you mean [insert chateau here] is too modern and could be California? It definitely tastes like Bordeaux!"

This wine. Now I get it.

  • Wow. Really like this, albeit agree that may be a bit more modern. This bottle popped from opening. Double decant and open for 4-6 hours. After 4, the entire cellar smelled of cassis. Huge nose of dark fruit, baking spice. On palate, loads of dark berry sweetness on front, a bit of earthy funk, bright acidity and sweet tannins. Long finish. Really nice now but interested in seeing how it turns out in a few years...if it lasts.

  • Decanted four hours prior. Tasted well, despite its youth. Lots of fruit. Modern tasting .

(Château Faugères) Very dark ruby color; appealing, ripe berry, black currant nose; rich, ripe black fruit, ripe berry palate; medium-plus finish (85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon; 15% alcohol; reminiscent of a Napa Cab; ready now)
