Opened to breathe for 2h in St. Emilion, with bread, foie, and goat cheese watching Euro 2016 in the hotel. Soft floral and herbal nose, with some faint sandalwood. On the palate bright tart cherries, raspberries, with oak and tannins on the finish. Agree with previous CT reviews, it is a "modern" new world interpretation of right bank Bdx. Medium bodied, perhaps lacking some tannic heft and depth of extracted flavors to be a higher score, and hence a better value, in my book despite the excellent vintage. Glad I tried it, but there are as good 2010 Bdx out there at a lower price point.
Wow. Really like this, albeit agree that may be a bit more modern. This bottle popped from opening. Double decant and open for 4-6 hours. After 4, the entire cellar smelled of cassis. Huge nose of dark fruit, baking spice. On palate, loads of dark berry sweetness on front, a bit of earthy funk, bright acidity and sweet tannins. Long finish. Really nice now but interested in seeing how it turns out in a few years...if it lasts.
