Blind Tasting 2009 & 2010 Cotes du Rhone (Rich & Peggy's House, Los Altos, CA): Apple cider nose that improved with air to show a bit of fresh apple fruit. Medium bodied with nice medium acidity. Bruised apple and pear fruit on the palate. Interesting juxtaposition of slightly oxidized fruit, an oily texture and bright acidity. Hint of citrus pith through the finish.

A great value fora well balanced and enjoyable wine. Pleasant aroma of mild spices, structured and thick in the mouth with some spices and slight sweetness, followed by a decent finish. I'd drink up the 2007 now with Mediterranean food.

Deals tasting: (Deals tasting room) This is a blend of 70% Grenache Blanc and the 10% of Viognier, Clairette, Bouboulenc. Nice nose, complex and fresh, in the mouth it is quite fat, low acidity, ripe fruits, short aftertaste. Everyday wine to be consumed in the first 3-5 years of its life.

Rather light in body, but lovely gold in color, with apples and almond.
