  Another supberb showing. Deep golden color. This is perfectly mature, mellowed, but also creamy and fresh. Deep notes of citrus, tangerine, cream, some sweet spices, cloth, nutmeg, some petrol, too, honey and some wet stone minerality. It‘s medium-full bodied (in the context of Spätlese), has high fresh acidity and medium sweetness that is so beautifully balanced by acidity and minerality. Long finish. A great Rheingau Spätlese from this excellent producer. Too bad it‘s my last bottle…

  I loved how this wine was aged almost 20 years. Beautiful nose with citrus, stone fruit, some greens. The acidity is buffered by a mild sweetness which has mellowed over time. Very good drinkability. 95+

  A somewhat disappointing bottle. Cork was soaked all the way through. The wine is quite sweet and filled with fresh and dried apricot fruit, but there's no real excitement here. Better with food than on its own. Cellared since original release. APN 005 05 (Weil usually has two bottlings, and this would have been the earlier one).

  Deep golden; luscious yellow fruit, plums, peaches, pineapple, slight honeyed apple, apricot jam, initially glazed fruit, intense mineral, pure core with great acid frame, great length, delicious.

  BYO - Michael: Sweet but with a lot of acidity. Pineapple, peach and vanilla flavors with a lot of sharp and fresh apple-like acidity. Interesting wine!
