After 14 years resting in a magnum, this wine emerged ready to delight. This is drinking perfectly now - smooth as silk and still holding up well. Had with brisket - perfect match!

Moderately deep purple color, right to the edge. Savory nose displays a beguiling combination of the 50/50 grenache syrah blend, with notes of sour cherry, leather and pencil shavings. Medium bodied with fine grained tannins. The slurp seems to favor the grenache right now, with it's candy quality, but the syrah has the lean muscle to keep it interesting. Well balanced. Flavors of tart red berry and green peppercorn are mouthwatering throughout a medium long finish. Based on tannins that have a bit to go before becoming fully integrated, I'd say this wine has a few years of cellar time left in it. It's drinking quite well now and we're interested to see if it continues to develop or becomes flabby. I hope we can hold onto the rest of our supply to see.

Very nice wine. I expected a bit more based on reviews, but still a very nice wine.
