My first time trying Souris, and hadn't had any in youth. This wine seems to speak of the vintage, which was a cold and classic Willamette Valley vintage when speaking with Marcus.
Slightly muted nose, but after a couple hours of air it opens up with some notes of dried blackberry, black cherry, wet Autumn leaves, and saddle leather. These notes are carried on the palate as well, along with a bit of black pepper and some smoke (almost Cote Rotie-like) on the mid-palate and finish which is enjoyable as well. Great acid structure and supple tannins.

From memory. Soft tannins, high toned red fruit and black cherry, balanced with acid from start to finish. Really good spice but couldn't help wondering if some of the spice was alcohol. Paired with baked salmon and went perfect. Great work Marcus. Fantastic wine.

A beautifully balanced Pinot from a classic Willamette Valley growing season. This wine possesses many of the qualities I seek in Pinot Noir from this AVA, including dried cherry fruit, earth, and a nice mineral flash on the the finish. No need to wait to yank the cork on this beautiful red.

The unanimous WOTN among an impressive lineup of big name WV pinots. Nose of cherry and earth give way to a wonderfully integrated finish of cherry, mushroom and nutmeg. Not a bit of oak or extraction here - just pure, lithe, cooler year WV fruit supported by good acid and fine tannins. Bravo Marcus!

Rich, lush, very nice saturated blue/blackberry flavors and aroma.
