Nice wine, but it was probably past peak. Very sophisticated and subtle. Mushrooms, damp forest floor, leather, underripe cherry. A bit of TCA, but not too annoying. Weight is medium minus, acid medium. Enjoyable wine.

Decanted for two hours, this wine was dark garnet with a forward fruity noise and a medium full cherry body. Long finish was rewarding. I wish I had more bottles cellared. Lovely wine. The previous reviewers nonwithstanding. Please send some my way.

Lean at first an hour in bright, red, juicy fruit. Nose is classic napa cab. Opened did not decant, Initially closed up an hour and a half in very soft tannins luscious wine. At the end of the evening tannins came back, beautiful wine.

The SLWC wines are some of the best vintage 2000 Napa wines I have ever had. Fay was a knockout from magnum a few months ago. This is old school Napa cab at its best.
Color: Beautiful deep color, a very youthful and vibrant deep red core and red edges
Nose: Beautiful loamy black currants, some bell pepper, cedar, plum and a hint of sage
Palate: This is classic Napa valley Cabernet, with the hallmark supple silky Stag's Leap tannins that frame a wonderful mix of cherry, currants and plum fruit that finish pretty long and very silky smooth.
Wonderful surprise, easily has another 5 years.
