Brian and Karen IV - La Barroche, Valdicava, Flaccianello, Carlisle (Our House, Avondale, PA): Big time aromas of cedar, leather, tobacco and aged fruit that jumped out of the glass. Nice nose. On the pallet the wine is very soft. The tannins are gone but there is still quite a bit of acidity. Its all pretty nice until the finish which is pretty weak. Drink up if you've got 'em!

Dark, sweet cherry, earth, spice flavors, smooth tannins, nice structure. Drinking well.

($37) September 1999 Wine Country: Vanilla, cedar and cherry in the nose. Palate is nicely balanced and nuanced to keep your interest.
