Served blind, never would have guessed it to be quite so young. I did immediately identify it as Gevrey, from the classic black cherry fruit. Good precision, but was a bit clipped -- which made sense upon the reveal. Guessing this will shut down soon and benefit from a decade of age, but for now it's still in the window of drinkability.

Domaine Roumier Cellar Visit and Tasting (Day 4, Visit 2) (Chambolle-Musigny): Barrel tasting at the domaine. ML 50+% complete. Black and meaty with impressive power for the vintage. Slightly tannic finish, but some much sweet fruit that this is clearly harmonious already. This will be a big step up from the very good Charmes-Chambertin, with 93-95 point potential.

Dark fruits, licorice and sarsaparilla root. Beautifully balanced, with great acid drive. Builds through the palate and fans out. Very stony finish.

A little darker in its fruit profile. There’s flesh underpinned by tannin. It is quite tight and linear with a long, mineral flecked finish.

Roumier visit. Sweet and candied, very different flavour profile from Chambolle. Decent gap to Charmes and Echezeaux.
