Rich blue and black fruit that still taste fresh. Sage - lavender notes mid pallet along with a beef broth and hints of floral. What really stands out is the play between the tannins and acidity. Tannins are pillowy and the acidity holds everything together, and builds on the finish that lingers for minutes.
Took about 1 hr to come alive, so give it time open, or in the cellar.

I tasted this at the winery and immediately tried to buy some. This was a "club only" bottling (7 barrels produced) so I had to join the club. Bought six.
Fast forward 48 hours and popped this at home. Decanted. Aerated. Last glass at 6 hours was the best.
Delicious. Faint flavors of savory character like coffee, sage, currant, deep dark cherry, baking spices, and meat. Very youthful, almost exuberant. Needs time and significant air if drinking now. Very nice bottle for ~$30. Will hold half and drink the other two with air.

Just a wonderfully crafted Syrah by this Rhône varietal luminary. Blue fruit, and a nice rich texture make for a very pleasurable experience.

Enjoyable with tart red raspberry, chocolate, coffee and a bit of sage. Very food friendly. Paired with a cheeseburger.
