oh my this is lovely. My first taste of Beaucastel blanc and it absolutely did not disappoint!
On the nose such a tantalizing combination of orange oil, honey, apricot, grilled bananas (thank you @amberissey), crushed ocean rock, buttered popcorn, and sandalwood. Jeesh there is a lot to unpack here and I am absolutely here for it.
On the palate, a brilliant mix of soft and vibrant notes, with banana cream pie and white flower complimented by bright minerality and a dash of allspice. There is immense depth, complexity, and concentration and this lingers on the palate for minutes afterwards. Simply magnificent and worth every penny of its reputation!
Plenty of time left too, as this only continued to develop in the glass throughout the evening. 94

Four hour decant. A gorgeous pale gold in the glass. A complex and inviting nose of honeysuckle, orange oil, quince, crushed rocks, blanched almonds, hazelnuts, sandalwood, and dried apricots. An absolutely exceptional palate that’s incredibly rich and dense; delivering serious power and concentration. There’s beautiful acidity providing the perfect balance for such a full and rounded wine. Highly impressive now with a great future ahead.

Double decanted 4 hours. Orange zest, dried orange flesh and beautiful fresh flowers on the nose alongside good minerality and also waxiness. Magnificent weight and richness on the palette with perfect acidity giving it a wonderful tingle. A little spiciness, cinnamon perhaps. Beautiful sweet attack and mid palette. Pine needles or something similar on the nose and palette. Light vanilla, honey, and peach. Maybe grilled or barbecued bananas. So complex. Awesome.

Took about 3-hours to open up, but once it did it was shining with white peach, orange, baking spice, and an oily finish. Really good, but it took awhile to show its stuff.

White peach, orange rind, flowers and honey pop on the nose. From there, on the palate you find fresh, bright, juicy apricots, peach, and sweet Mandarin oranges. The wine has flesh and freshness. Yields were quite low, so this is going to be quite difficult to find. The wine was made from a blend of 85% Roussanne and 15% Grenache Blanc.
