Chef came over after I sent a glass of the Dauvissat to the kitchen and offered this to go with the cheeses. Uh, Hell oui! When poured, the color was of a seriously oxydized wine and my heart sank. However, and this is a big however, when you smelled it, it was bright, flowery, almondy, with just a hint of oak, but not too much. The taste was quite similar, with a round, glyceriny mouthfeel and a long, long elegant finish. Gorgeous with the cheeses, but my preference was the Dauvissat for that course. Still, I enjoyed it.

This was in a great place, but I'd drink up soon (it was our last). Deep golden with a hint, but only a hint, of oxidation, showing in a light nut oil note. The minerality has really come to the fore, and the wine is long, complete, complex.

Deep gold; honey, orange peel, wet stone on the nose; very full bodied/oily on the palate with a lovely juxtaposition of smoothness over the tongue and slight tartness from the acidity. The honey, orange peel and wet stone meld together beautifully through the palate to the long finish. Balanced, mature, superb!

A perfect bottle. Rich waxy and full with an Amber colour. Wonderful.

Light brown body, lemon rim. Still rich and complex. Was able to handle spicy tapas with dinner. "Sherry-lite" as John called it.
