Deep color, nose of plums, spice, and cocoa. Smells a little hot and the alcohol is listed at 15.3. It wears it pretty well, though I can feel the heat after what otherwise is a long, smooth 30 second aftertaste. Black fruits on the palate, jammy, with more chocolate. Drinking very nicely but I can't help thinking picking a little earlier might have resulted in a more food friendly and classic syrah.

Drank this bottle while doing a Syrah tasting with some friends. This wine is dark and inky. It was definitely the biggest of the 5 Syrahs that we tasted. It was very good though. Big, very California, fruit-bomb with vibrant dark berries and red currant. Would have showed more depth with more aging, but a really tasty wine. I would hold on to this one for a year or so, but, you will definitely not be disapointed if you share my impatience and cork it today.

Wonderful fruit expression. Deeply colored. Bien Nacido at the peak. Wonderful wine.

Drank with the JTT. Inky and luscious mouth feel. Enjoyable as usual.
