High toned nose of violets, roses, tar and blackberries.
On the palate: Sweet red cherries, plum skin and fruit acid lift. Very long with great intensity across the palate. Firm, but not dry, tannin. A wine of great beauty - tastes much much younger.

Unfortunately oxidized. Too bad, would have been fascinating to taste this in good condition.

Surprisingly fresh given its age. This was cellared at the winery for the first 25 years and then in our cellar for the past 14 years.
Color was crimson with orange highlights. On the nose there was preserved cherry, dusty earth, balsamic vinegar, and a hint of sweet caramel.
Palate was dried cherry, burnt orange, leather, and caramel.
Medium bodied, medium finish, and enough acidity to keep things interesting.

From Binny's. While the bottle was sold as ex-cellar, the wine was clearly cooked. Very disappointing.
