At peak and a brilliant bottle of Barolo. Beautiful scents of coffee, chocolate, roasted hazelnuts. So lively on the palate with a refreshing acidity, silky tannins, the texture of a great red Burgundy but the power of Barolo. Similar flavors than on the nose but also some fine and classy black tea notes, black cherries and hint of cane sugar. A great wine and I enjoyed this a lot more than a bottle of the 2005 Barolo San Rocco we had ~2 years ago. - 94 points

Unfortunately, my last bottle of this. It‘s super perfumed right out of the gate, with sweet notes of black cherries, some dark red berries, mint, dried flowers, iron, christmas spices, also a touch of licorice and some cedar wood too, as well as some ferrous and tarry mineral note. It's medium-full bodied with still medium+ tannin that is silky and medium-high acidity. Very good length. A sexy, perfumed and super delicious Bricco Fiasco.

Azelia Barolo Bricco Fiasco 2005 This is definitely a modern style Barolo, probably with quite a lot of oak. A nose brown sugar, licorice, banana, tropical fruit. On the palate, black fruit, licorice sweetness, dried fruits, dried dates, licorice, a full bodied mid palate, dried sweetness. 91/100. Can tell it’s a modern style but I actually prefer the traditional austere style.

Did not blow me away as much as I'd hoped. Seems okay. Maybe the other bottles will be better.
