  • Really delicious stuff that is elegant and full of energetic finesse, while maintaining its Californian character. This lacks the minerality of similar Burgundies, but the racy acidity captures that same feeling of freshness. The fruit starts off pure and perfumed with hints of spice, but the finish shows a lot of toffee and more tropical notes. Extremely long finish, the acidity here will keep this going for a few years yet. Great stuff.

  • Past its prime. Would have been unbelievable 2 years ago.

  • No rating b/c the cork was slightly leaky... would have given it an 88 if someone poured it for me in a by the glass scenario. just far more sour hazelnut and far less elegance than even a year ago.

  • Note to all: this is over-the-top California Chardonnay. it is also one of the best examples of it I've had in a while. the word "burgundian" does not exist when this bottle is open. On the nose there are aromas of buttered, long grain white rice; baked, unripe pears; and fresh, wet cinnamon sticks. On the palate, there's a green apple freshness and an oily sliver of oak bark. The finish is long and slightly hot; most of what I get near the end of the sip is Mezcal-soaked red apple peel.
