Excellent wine. Graphite in the aromatics with an open, but structured savory palate that is proper in flavor and easy to enjoy now. Would have guessed Cabernet Sauvignon, but this is a nice ripe Merlot without getting those stewed over ripe flavors. Well done!

Dark ruby red. Dr. Pepper nose. Full bodied. The wine has a very nice acidic core and some silky tannins. Red fruit which is on the sweet side. To the detriment of the wine, this is slathered in American oak. I did taste an older Cab from FH last year and the oak had integrated nicely, so patience is your friend with this wine. Fortunately, the structure is there to reward you if you wait this one out.

Needs to be allowed to warm a bit from the cellar and have some air time. Got better through the course of the evening. Spice and cherry upon opening, the cherry seemed to melt away as other fruit opened as the wine warmed and breathed. Smooth in the mouth - silky finish.

Vivid milk-chocolate-- smooth, creamy chocolate with some cherry and maybe blueberry notes. Shockingly good (if you are into that sort of Merlot taste). Exclaims from around the table of a pressing need to buy this wine (good luck with that -- less than 200 cases released in 2007).

Deep, deep red color. Nice nose with spice and black fruit aromatics. Very smooth on the palate considering the bottle was open for a limited time before drinking (no decant). Glad I cellared this for a few years. Moderate finish. Overall, a very nice wine for the money. Not quite a 90 rating though.
