Subtle nose of saffron, honeysuckle, nougat, mushroom, bruised apple and a top note of mint. Nice and sweet on the palate, acid receding with a rich mouthfeel, but still pleasantly light, not syrupy. A long, brine honeycomb filled finish. Pretty delicious and well balanced but expected a bit more nuance in the aromatics at this age. I’d drink this now before the acid disappears

Light golden in colour. Honey, oranges (botrytis), brown sugar and tropical fruits on the nice nose. More of the same on the smooth, slightly oily palate and a long finish. All the fruits are starting to integrate nicely now. Off dry to sweet in style. Very nice (A-)

NobleRottersSydney - Christmas Lunch 2018 (Noum, Surry Hills, Syndey): {AP 12 03, cork, 7.5%} [Graeme] Level was a bit down, cork looked a bit soggy. Smelt of brown leaves and nuts. There’s a memory of residual sweetness on the palate, but it’s dominated by a stale oxidative quality. A shame, as there’s a sense of greatness here. I think recent vintages are under screwcap, thankfully.

Apricot, ginger in a complex nose. Sweet just shy of cloying, ginger, orange marmalade, decent acid, telltale Riesling petrol. Young feeling but fully ready. I guess has another decade and the sweetness still limits use to certain foods or as an aperitif.

(Gunderloch Nackenheimer Rothenberg Auslese) This is always a heavy hitter. This year is no exception. The botrytis is more integrated than when I tasted it back in June but it still backs a huge botrytis punch. Tastes like a liquid frozen creamsicle. It's ripe, fat, long and shows an array of citrus flavors but lacks something in the complexity departement. But it still makes up for that with its sheer power and explosiveness. Long too.
(Gunnderloch Nackenheimer Rothenberg Riesling Auslese) Botrytis is very evident here. Krazy nose of peaches, orange marmalade, kiwis, sweet peas and undergrowth. Thick and dense in the mouth with flavors of apricot and cream. Acids delineate all the material perfectly. Extremely powerful Riesling.

Ripe and rich riesling aromas with apricot and peaches. Elegant and seductive in the mouth. A lovely Auslese.
