  • New Zealand theme with rack of lamb. Pours a medium blood red. Spritzy medium to light bodied, with funk-o-musk notes that settle down. Bright pomegranate, cherry and strawberry notes framed with a dark wood undercurrent. Fruity and showing minimal oxidization. At 14.5% drinks lighter than that. A fine offering purchased directly from the winery in Otago on our honeymoon. Certainly the WS drink by date of 2009 is rubbish, this is doing quite fine and has not diminished yet.

  • PnP, pouring a light crimson to clear on the rim. This light bodied Pinot smells of classic herbs d'provence, unmistakable pinot musk, and dark toast oak. Velveteen sour cranberry, cherry sails through the mid palate and lively acidity sears through the finish. Light and zippy, wonderful expression of NZ pinot, this is a benchmark of the style. Day 2+ under vac-u-vin: Nose faded, with some volatile alcohol notes, but sweet fruit out - loads of jammy raspberry, strawberry and cherry. Holding well.

  • Wow. Bought this wine when we were in Dunedin while on the cruise. Had the wine at the steak house on the cruise ship and was blown away. Deep dense color right out of the bottle. Excellent nose, taste lasted 30 plus seconds on the palate. Silky smooth with rich aromas of black cherries, plums and chocolate. As I said the palate was dense yet opulolent with full length. One of the very best pinot's I have had in a very long time. Great to be able to find a bottle in a wine store with age. WOW! No sign of losing its fruit.

  • The last of this--showing some baked fruit character, v. rich and chocolatey. These bottles needed drinking.
