We recently picked up a few bottles of this Santa Barbara legend, and we thought the all seafood/fish birthday month sip 'n snack event would be perfect. Cherry red on the eye. Aromas of a blend of cherries, berries, a bit of dark chocolate and espresso as well as some toasty smoke and a touch too much alcohol (blew off after an hour). Very complex and interesting on the nose. The comments from the six tasters were as varied and interesting as any wine we have sipped a long-time. This not only reflected the wine, but the diverse backgrounds of the people. Sadly, the jolly good experience dissipated somewhat as the palate was straightforward berries, narrow on the mouth, virtually no tannins and an exceedingly short finish. Comments regarding the palate were fairly focused on the taste being "dull". Perhaps a reflection of the excitement of the nose? Nah, we simply think she entered the party like a flashy, most intriguing rockstar of the ages and quietly exited the back door with barely a whimper. We wonder if she is finished, which would be sad given we have more bottles! And so it goes...

Popped and sat for a while before pouring. In hindsight I should have decanted. Improved impressively with air. Agree with other comments- cinnamon, spices, and cherry.

Very nice. Straightfoward, with cherry, strawberry, roses and a touch of spice and barnyard. Good acidity. Develops complexity in the glass, but hard to let it because it's so easy to drink.

Would recommend decanting the bottle - if you can wait that long! Full Bodied Pinot. Cherry. Some Spice. A little creamy and sweet.
