Drink up Didn't take notes but 1/3 used for cooking wine. Had nice salinity / blackberry preserves and tobacco but something just seemed off on the palate. Have really enjoyed other vintages from this producer. This was not a flawed bottle. Sometimes you get what you pay for.

One of my favorite Stolpman bottlings. This one is a disappointment at this point. Fruit is diminished and what remains is high acidity and tannins. Did not decant, and probably should have. Maybe it is in a dumb phase. Maybe the influence of Raj "High Acid" Parr. Strange.

PnP. I’m not a fan of this excessively extracted, over the top, very ripe, “fruit bomb” style. However, like all things in life, there is a time and place for everything…tonight, it was the spicy, slow smoked chicken, and jalapeño ranch beans. The food really saved this wine. Unfortunately, this lacks balance: all fruit, little structure, and no finish. Without the spicy food, this would be a complete flop. Drink now. Still 82 points.

Wow, this is right on point! Not harsh and not too old either, and with a perfect dose of acid to support the blackcurrant and blackberry flavors. One of the best high altitude Syrahs I've had from the Central Coast. 14.1% ABV. 90-91

Better than last bottle. Didn't take any notes but this was enjoyable and paired well with ribs. Consistent with my note from 2/21.
