TN: Veneto $20 to $40: This was getting old in the tooth and starting to show some port like notes, but I liked it. Lou opened this after the regular tasting was over. Purple in color. The nose is dusty, raisined, and slight oxidized. On the palate, still plenty of black cherries. A bit drying but very good. A nice treat. Drink up though.

TN: Amarones, Soves and Ports: Purple in color, some ruby and a bit more transparent than the others. A nice nose of dusty cocoa and dark cherries. Slight VA notes but not troublesome on a very complex nose. On the palate, this is in a good spot. Layered with vibrant fruit. Velvety texture. Long finish with some odd cola notes. Also some dark chocolate. I think this is ready to be drunk but no hurry. Nice streak of acidity as well.

Great dark color. Nice elements of raisin & black fruit on the nose. Very herbal & structured, with good sweetness & great acidity. This is drinking beautifully & paired well with the Yak filets for dinner.
