Dinner at Table, Donkey and Stick (Chicago, IL): A fairly mature wine at this point, the nose was quite clean, though there was a little bit of dirt initially that did blow off. This seems to show a little bit of oak still, but the fruit is the most important thing here, and it was clean, bright, and red. Fairly burly on the palate, this shows a little bit of an iron characteristic, and definitely some of the earthy power of a Gevrey. This is more on the rustic side of Burgundy, although this is a fairly clean wine.

Nico's Night of Wonders (Chez Siggy & Jenny's Place, Mpls, MN): Medium dark red color. PNP, drank 1 glass over 30 minutes. Another bonus bottle, thanks to Dave D. Raspberry, spice, medium body, a bit tighter and more reserved, smoke and scorched earth. 91pts.

Mature cherry aromas and flavors, more red vs black. Faint hints of meaty or animale character. I like the balance here, but it isn't quite at Grand Cru level from this good vintage.

Corked. A shame because you could get a sense of the quality of the underlying fruit, but became undrinkable.
