Root Day - decanted off about a tablespoon of fine grained sediment. Garnet bricking from core to a slightly orange tinged mahogany edge. Nose of stewed dark fruit (prune-like), dried red flowers, some Volatile Acidity, dried herbs and dark chocolate. On the palate the stewed fruit shows initially, followed by a small hit of VA. Then the fruit, herbs, licorice and dark chocolate take over and fill the mid and back palate. Medium plus acidity and fully resolved tannins give it a lighter than expected back palate. The acidity carries into the medium plus length finish taking with it the dark fruit and a small touch of herbs. This is directly from the cellar. Will update once it gets some air.
Later (about an hour) the VA is subsumed by the fruit - this is a fully mature wine drinking very well in full tertiary mode.

Needed time to breathe but was surprised how balanced it was. It still had lovely fruit tones and a soft finish. Sharp enough to stand up to a cheese plate no problem

Wasn't expecting much here but was very pleasantly surprised. Lovely floral nose, light bodied and fruity, showing lots of dark cherries and raspberries. Enjoyed it very much
