Pronounced intensity on the nose with lots of fruit - blackberry, cherry, plum then some chocolate in the background.
Medium intensity on the palate with lots of fruit, medium plus acidity, medium tannins, medium finish.
Great wine at the price point. As expected from Álvaro Palacios - have enjoyed his Priorat wines. Will have to try the higher end Riojas they're making.

3.7 First tried in August 2020, we laid this down for an additional 18 months of bottle age. This is a lighter, fruitier style of Rioja that is far from the norm.
Fruit dominant on the nose with a range of strawberry, red cherry and red plum. With some bottle age the oak notes of milk chocolate and menthol and faded into the background.
Juicy palate with soft tannins, integrated alcohol and robust acidity.
Flavours are sweet and fruit dominant.
Good length, decent value.
Drink now.

Not the typical Rioja for me as too light, more burgundy style, lots of red fruit but no leather or oak. Not surprisingly does not age well

3.8 Easy drinking Rioja - no need to decant. Fruit forward and well balanced. Some spice, medium finish.

Berries, pepper , a bit of coffee make this an enjoyable wine. Drink now or hold foe a couple to three years.
