A Night of Rochioli (Mostly West Block) (Classic Dallas): Barely perceptible aromas at the outset of tasting with palate showing an interesting, almost seamless melange of bark, fruit and medicinal herbs. Later in the evening, the wine improved. The nose opened up some more to show nice cherries accented by oak spice, and bark. Palate retained the fruit and bark flavors but was now accompanied by baking spices and a bit of vanilla oak. Full body.

My last bottle of a half case purchased around release, and the first time I’ve had it in 10 years. I always loved West Block the most of their single vineyard pinots for its lush textures and sexy fruit. I’m impressed with how well it’s held onto those traits, even if it’s not particularly complex. Very tasty, and a nice stroll down memory lane for me

Opened 1.5 hours before pour. Beautiful color, still some fruit but time to drink up
