decanting is recommended, nice touches of rose petal, forest and leather on the nose, this is a firm and masculine red, shines with bright acid playing well with the red cherry, tar, cigar leaf and licorice flavors, complex, feathery texture, dry finish, will age very well, right now this is a beauty, went well with Italian sausage

From the wine list at the Manzo bar in Eataly Flat Iron. Splurged on a '07 Oddero to kick off the holiday weekend. A bit tight on opening so decanted and served immediately. Initially this was a bit reticent both on the nose and the palate. After about 45 minutes it started to open up though and become much more enjoyable. A bit on the heavier side still with a lot of tar flavors in the mid palate initially. With time the fruit, acid and tannins came into balance and paired nicely with the pasta. Still seems quite young and should improve with more age.

This bottle has been open 3+ days and has oxidized nose. Med red. Outstanding concentration. Silky tannin only appears on the finish. Fresher bottle would score better.

I think fig newtons may me a tell for me and Nebbiolo
One of the best noses I’ve ever come across. Strawberry candy, rose petal, cigar. Needed about 1-1.5 hour decent
