Pretty consistent with previous bottle in terms of aromas and flavors although the alcohol seemed to show a bit more this time. Fruit came across slightly raisiny on the palate as well. Otherwise, very enjoyable.
Red with some purple hues, medium weight. Sour cherries, flowers, pepper. Tannins are there, but not overpowering. Seems consistent with what I've read about 2007 being an earlier drinking vintage. This had plenty of structure to pair well with my filet. I just love the complexity of these wines.
Expressive and intense nose of cherries, forest floor and some spices. On the palate nice structure with fine coarsed tannins. Cherries, mushroom and some hints of vanilla. Good acid and well balanced. Elegant, complex with medium length for a Barolo. Drinking well now.
Decanted for around 30 mins. The nose on this wine was really expressive and continued to open up over the course of dinner. Cherry cough drop, lilac, cinnamon stick, a bit of cherry vanilla candy and red licorice. Really pretty. Similar flavors on the palate with dark, tart red fruit, sweet baking spices and some oak related notes. Medium+ acid and tannins but well integrated with a nice finish. This wine exceeded my expectations. Very good barolo for the money. Drinking well right now. Will probably drink my remaining bottle within the next year or so.
