Shows its age with a ruby core. Leather and cherry on the nose with a similar palate. In my opinion, this easily holds for a few more years before any decline. Really enjoyed this bottle.

Monthly Tasting Group EEE #049; Bordeaux: Pessac-Léognan. (@ My place): The bouquet is still a bit locked, but shows dark berries, cedar and some bell pepper. On the palate a somewhat sweet start with ripe dark forest fruits, caramel, beautiful oak and acidity and round tannin. This wine is in its young maturity stage now and showing nicely. Will be nice until the end of the decade at least. 88 - 89 for this evening, but I will put 88 in CT as my "official" score.

I decanted this for about and hour and a half. When first poured the nose was very subtle with little other than wood and light spice, a quick swirl of the glass and magic happened! Strawberry, plum and blackberry all came flying out the top of the glass. The palate unfortunately was not as fruity and although it did have some black fruit and cherry flavours the finish was still woody. A bit more time in the bottle and a longer decant and this could have scored higher.

Outstanding value; tastes likes Cru Classe Claret. Superb concentrated, complex nose with black cherry, soy, soud bois, smoky minerality, cassis and sage; good tannic presence with bracing acidity. Well integrated oak. Could age but bloody good right now!
