Very tannic, needs a lot of air. More red than black fruited. Quite firm. First of my 3 bottles, I am not touching the rest for at least another 3 years. Sour cherries, earth, a bit of leather/tobacco, spice (pepper). Long finish. Lovely wine that is just a bit too early to enjoy fully.

Two hour double decant. Very very deep magenta color. Black cherry (with stems), blackberry jam, lingonberry, tobacco, and subtle leather on the fruit forward and subtly earthy nose. Smooth, dry, spicy palate, with great acidity. Firm, full tannins on the longish finish. 75% Merlot and 25% CF
Doesn't seem to have quite the focus and detail of the 2015, but some of the same elements are there that give it a satisfyingly edgy bite despite being quite packed and large scale. Maybe the early window is closing because it's not shy about showing how much tannin it's stuffed with either. But it still shows a wealth of dark fruit with a streak of shisito peppers giving it a nice snap.

Three hour decant. Very deep ruby magenta color. Maraschino cherry, underripe blueberry, vanilla extract, and subtle saddle leather on the fruit forward and subtly earthy nose. Very smooth, dry palate, with cottony, tongue drying acidity. Firm, full tannins on the medium long finish.
This is already drinking nicely, although it will improve with one or two more years in the cellar (or a longer decant). Great QPR for Left Bank Bordeaux.
