Day 1: Coravin-ed at cellar temperature. Immediately classic aromas, beef stock, tobacco, pasture, cherry, violets, tons going on, true bottle bouquet. Mid-weigh with a linear profile, crunchy red fruit, tobacco and minerality. Clean, pure, direct profile. Medium plus acidity, furry tannins on the finish, mostly resolved. This will continue to age, though whether it will improve from its current plateau is a matter of personal preference.
Day 2: Popped cork to finish bottle. Less feral, black currant, mint and menthol are more forward now. Otherwise, consistent with its gravelly, earthy origins. Such a singular wine, not a 'vin de garde', yet age-worthy and archetypical in its expression.

PnP. Very good showing, fully mature though still very much in its preferred window. Little to no sign of age on the medium ruby core. Soil, plum, the occasional barn note, some sage and forest, etc. Lovely medium/med+ body with exceptional balance and good+ persistence. A joy. Hard to believe I paid just $22 on release; way over-delivered that on that. Easily highly recommended
Drinking beautifully with a bit of air. Relatively savory compared to, say, the preceding vintage, but lovely balance and, I’m inclined to say, finesse to the basic aromatic and flavor profile.

opened at 5:30 and double decanted. Reductive at first, almost unpleasant. But blows off and this is a lovely wine, in the end. Served alongside a 2005 Breton Perrieres and this wine comes off as a bit rustic next to the Breton, and with noticeable green notes. But in a charming way. Perfectly balanced, harmonious in its expression of aroma and flavor, pungent and actually more expressive on the nose than the Breton, but not as deep or detailed. Delicious, typical, satisfying wine.

By the bottle at Chambers in NYC. Nose is fresh and lifted, strawberries, clay and gravel. Palate is very pretty, tannins resolved, red berries, slight strawberry licorice, slight floral notes, crunchy and juicy, medium body, medium finish. Very pretty, great with the hanger steak and pork chop.
