Slow ox’s for 6 hours. Savory notes of jerky, barley, and plum. Finishes on a chalky, mineral note — reminds me a little of cru Beaujolais. A bit faded which makes the alcohol more apparent. Not really a fan.

This red has a nose of red clay, red brick, dried cherries, and leather. The tannins are bold and smooth as is the finish. Le Mistral is still one of my favorites despite leaving the Phelps family of wines.

Still drinking well. Less fruit forward than when younger.
There is moderate sediment in the bottle.
